CleanR Verso Board joined by Guntars Levics
To streamline and strengthen the corporate governance model of CleanR Verso, an industrial waste management company, the group has appointed Guntars Levics, a seasoned industry expert, as the company’s Member of the Board. Levics will continue to fulfil his duties as a Member of the Board at CleanR Grupa and Zaļā josta.
“Given CleanR Verso’s ambitious goals this year—to increase the amount of industrial waste recycling, modernize its waste sorting infrastructure and machinery, as well as to reduce the share of the “shadow zone” in construction waste management, Guntars Levics’ long-standing and wide experience in the waste management industry will be a significant contribution for the business,’ states Juris Gulbis, CleanR Grupa’s Chairman of the Board.
He told that CleanR Verso is carrying out major modernization of Nomales, the company’s waste sorting site, making it into the most modern site of the kind in the Baltics, which will allow the company to double the amount and speed of waste recycling. Also, the company, in cooperation with the public sector and building firms, researches the problems related to the removal of construction waste to reduce the share of the “shadow economy” in the industry.
With Guntars Levics joining the CleanR Verso Board, Baiba Rozenlauka ceases to fulfil her board member’s duties.
CleanR Verso manages collection and recycling of industrial waste. The company’s sorting site Nomales receives an average of 160 000 tons of waste—construction and demolition waste, bulky waste, wood, glass, asphalt, etc. A half of this waste is construction and demolition waste, of which around 80%, for example, gravel, sand, wood etc., is recycled. At the same time, the company’s waste sorting centre resorts approximately 20 000 tons of separately collected waste annually, of which around 60% is suitable for recycling and 35% may be used as a solid fuel for thermal energy production.
